The congregation then moved to Abbeydale Christian Community Church to be geographically closer to its parishoners. It formally was founded on July 13, 1999 as The Lao Community Mennonite Church. The language of worship is Laotian. The people in the church are from Laos and are from a poor, farming background. In Canada, most work night-shift at a meat packing plant. They are believers, and are very thirsty for the knowledge of God and His Word. in 1988 there were 12 members. In 2001 there were 10 members led by Pastors Sountorn and Sokhany Chaichan.
