Administrative/Biographical History
Heinrich Peter Geddert (2 Sep 1905 - 3 Jan 1992) was born in Zagradovka,
South Russia and moved as a child to Orlovo, Barnaul, Siberia where
he met his wife, Maria (nee Nickel, 7 Feb 1907, Mazayevka near Ignatievko
Colony-23 Feb 1984). They emigrated to Canada in 1926, first settling in Herbert, Saskatchewan. They also lived at Hudson Bay Junction, Saskatchewan; Coaldale, Alberta; Gem, Alberta; and finally, Leduc, Alberta. Heinrich
was choir director (Dirigent) for the Orlovo Mennonite Church at the
time when music was passed around and each individual made their own
copy of it for use in the choir.
Scope & Content
The fonds consists of 7 electronic (.nwc format readable by Noteworthy
software) music files which have been printed out.
